Justice Policy Branch
The Justice Policy Branch is responsible for:
- providing and coordinating policy advice on access to justice issues across the federal civil justice system, including implementation of the Strategic Framework for Access to Justice in the Federal Civil Justice System
- providing and coordinating policy advice on the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation, conciliation and arbitration
- providing secretariat, research and policy support to the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council
- providing policy advice on evidence and statutory interpretation, and
- providing policy advice on Private International Law including issues relating to service, evidence and judgments overseas
The National Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Advisory Council is an independent body comprising experts in ADR from around Australia which is responsible for providing independent policy advice and for promoting ADR. More information about NADRAC is available from the NADRAC website.
